    • It is ore of a tabloid.
    • It is local.
    • The genre is local news.
  • 'Too Clever for Prison' Article
    • The producer is trying to position you to laugh at the case, as the girl had gotten away with a serious crime just because she is clever, and as you carry on reading the article you can even read about how the judge pretty much let her get away with everything, just so she can work as a doctor in her future.
    • It makes us have distrust in the court system as she got away with assault just so she could be a doctor.
    • Her image is another term of anchorage as she has a smug face as she had just gotten away with assault, and that makes everyone pretty angry.
    • She is representing people with metal health issues, and is shining a negative light on them.
    • A negative reading is that her mental health could be an excuse to get away with her crimes.
    • It is representing women as crazy, it is hysterical (tangled womb), which means only women can be mad because their womb is tangled and men can never be.
    • It is representing Oxford students as being too good for everyone else, as she got away with her crimes.
    • The fact that they mentioned Tinder, is to infer that Lavinia is loosely caring on her sexual life, and has no respect for herself.
    • An oppositional reading is that she is the victim and no one has helped her with the mental health issues. 
    • Maybe the man had done something extremely bad which made her feel like she really needed to stab him.
    • Someone else could she 'wow she's so cool, she's my type of women'.

  • 'Kids' tickets dropped after Little Mix Show'
    • They used Little Mix's name as anchorage to get the audience to read, when the story has no real relevance to the band, just the place they perform.

Introduction to The Times and Constructing Representation  What advantages are there to a newspaper demonstrating a particular political/ideological bias? To control people, and inspire people to carry out actions that they would not of thought of themselves. Ideology is a system of control an power, it is hegemony, it is the newspaper you must agree to it. If the newspaper has a ideology it means they can attract more of a target audience. You can judge someones personality by what newspaper they read, as different newspapers cover different types of stories and have different ideologies. To gain support of a political party, as different newspapers support different parties. Why would a newspaper wish to manipulate the ideology of it's target audience? Anchor Spreadable Butter Advert The groups represented in this advert are the elderly and the young, all within the group of family. The boy monkey is a teenager and the little girl monkey is a pre-teen. The boy monkey looks as though he is a stereotypical teenager as he is wearing a hoodie, which looks like a stereotypical 'dangerous' teenager. The women monkey is old has it seems as though she has stereotypical dementia of an elderly person, and a joke is also made about it. The elderly monkey has a Caribbean accent, portraying different ethnic groups. A stereotype of Jamaican people is that they like food and cooking. Her voice is very soft and makes the advert feel very soft and laid back.  The young boy is inferred to be very sarcastic, the Lexis of him is tat he is informal. Magazine 2- Adbuster Detournement -  Hijacking or re-routing, AKA 'culture jamming'-   The practise of criticising and subverting advertising and consumerism in the mass media, by methods such as producing advertisements parodying those of global brands. The genre is not immediately clear, its hard to tell as each cover and masthead is completely different, and there is no content on the outside, and makes it very hard to know what is in the inside.  Adbusters seems to be a parody, as it is parodying certain popular subjects in the media. There are a lot of parodies of horror films, as they all have many similar conventions, and are very easy to parody. It could be a political genre, as Donald Trump with a literal barcode moustache is on the front cover inferring he is Hitler.
